Coin Quilt #17

It's been a crazy week.  Hubby had some issues, but all is well now.  We are heading to Alaska this weekend for a land and cruise.  It is our first time there and can't wait to relax and enjoy the beauty of the land.

But before I go, I wanted to get this Coin Quilt top finished.  I didn't want any project left waiting.

I modified the pattern with extra sashing.  I also didn't add the small coins to the front.

I'm going to use the small coins on the back.  I have two choices for backing.

Backing #1

Backing #2

What do you think Backing #1 or #2?

  4. Very cheerful! I love simple designs that show off the fabrics. For the backing, it is hard to tell, but I think backing 1 will give the quilt a different look from the back, which I always like.

  9. The quilt is lovely - I have never made a coin quilt but really need to add it to my list! Whilst I love backing 1 some of the prints from the squares get lost in it so I would go for backing 2. Have a wonderful time in Alaska - now that is on my list of places to visit!

    1. Thanks for checking out my coin quilt. It is a very quick and easy quilt. Once I'm back I'll need to get my backing done, then decide on how to quilt.

  10. Lucky - a trip to Alaska! Someday I'll get there. The quilt is fabulous, and I prefer backing 2, but it is your choice. Thanks for sharing at Midweek Makers

  11. I love the pretty, bright colors in that quilt. Both backing choices are lovely, I lean towards #2 just because it makes those colors pop a bit more. I think both are good choices though. Do you have a binding picked yet?

    1. Thanks for stopping Jen! I think I am leaning towards #2 as well. I am going with a strip binding, just not sure on which color yet.

Jen may I ask, what is your go to mahcine? I am in the market for a new machine and am trying to get as much feedback as possible.
