But before I go, I wanted to get this Coin Quilt top finished. I didn't want any project left waiting.
I modified the pattern with extra sashing. I also didn't add the small coins to the front.
I'm going to use the small coins on the back. I have two choices for backing.
Backing #1
Backing #2
What do you think Backing #1 or #2?
Super cute, love the fun colors. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heide for stopping by.
DeleteLove the fabric choices! Can't wait to see the finish!

DeleteThanks for stopping by Linda!
DeleteVery cheerful! I love simple designs that show off the fabrics. For the backing, it is hard to tell, but I think backing 1 will give the quilt a different look from the back, which I always like.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori. I was thinking 1 too.
DeleteVery nice coin quilt, I love the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. I tend to go for those bright colors.
DeleteSuch a pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maryse. It is such an easy and quick quilt to put together.
DeleteBeautiful and bright quilt! I love the second choice for backing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayne for stopping by. Once back from vacation I'll be finishing this one up.
DeleteLovely piece..love both backs but 1 more interesting and #2 shows the blocks better...You will love Alaska...so much wildlife ..
ReplyDeleteThanks. We do enjoy the wildlife and beautiful scenery.
DeleteThe quilt is lovely - I have never made a coin quilt but really need to add it to my list! Whilst I love backing 1 some of the prints from the squares get lost in it so I would go for backing 2. Have a wonderful time in Alaska - now that is on my list of places to visit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my coin quilt. It is a very quick and easy quilt. Once I'm back I'll need to get my backing done, then decide on how to quilt.
DeleteLucky - a trip to Alaska! Someday I'll get there. The quilt is fabulous, and I prefer backing 2, but it is your choice. Thanks for sharing at Midweek Makers

Thanks for stopping by Susan. It was a beautiful trip. Now that I'm back I'm without a machine. looking to buy a new one at the upcoming quilt show in Grand Rapids Michigan next week.
DeleteI love the pretty, bright colors in that quilt. Both backing choices are lovely, I lean towards #2 just because it makes those colors pop a bit more. I think both are good choices though. Do you have a binding picked yet?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping Jen! I think I am leaning towards #2 as well. I am going with a strip binding, just not sure on which color yet.
DeleteJen may I ask, what is your go to mahcine? I am in the market for a new machine and am trying to get as much feedback as possible.
